Configuring Data Control

 

Data Control is only available for the protection profiles of Windows computers.

To access the Data Control settings, click the Settings menu and select one of the existing profiles.

Then, select Windows and Linux > Data Control. This will take you to the settings window.

It may not be possible to search for personal information in Microsoft Office documents on certain computers. This is because in order to be able to search for personal information in Microsoft Office documents, your computers must have Microsoft Filter Pack component installed.

How to find out which computers don't have the component installed

Click Check now.

A list will be displayed with those Windows computers without Data Control support for Microsoft Office.

 

How to add Microsoft Office support for those computers that don't have the component installed

In the settings window, click the How to add support for Microsoft Office documents link.

You'll be taken to a support article with instructions to resolve the problem.
