If a client has licenses of an endpoint protection product and decides to switch to another endpoint protection product, the unused licenses of the current product will be returned to the stock of virtual licenses. In that case, the system will calculate the licenses to recover.
Refer to the license assignment table for more information about the options to change between endpoint protection products within the same client account.
A client with Endpoint Protection Plus licenses decides to buy licenses of Adaptive Defense 360.
The following operations will take place:
Their current Endpoint Protection Plus licenses will be removed.
The new product licenses will be registered.
The partner will recover the number of Endpoint Protection Plus licenses that haven't been used. To calculate the number of licenses to recover, use the following formula:
(Number of licenses of the current product x Number of days remaining on the product's subscription) 365 x years Where "years" will be 1, 2 or 3 depending on the license period |
If the calculation determines that a number of licenses must be returned to the partner, a message will be displayed with detailed information about the license assignment process. Click the relevant link to view the calculation details.
If the calculation determines that there are NO licenses to recover, the following message will be displayed:
The recovered licenses will be displayed next to the name of the relevant solution in the My available licenses section in the Status window.
Obviously, trial licenses cannot be recovered.
It is important to note that the recovered licenses will have the same duration as the licenses that were originally assigned to the client; that is, if the client had 3-year licenses, the recovered licenses will have a 3-year duration.
