Viewing licenses

The Licenses section in the Status window displays the number of licenses of or for Windows/Linux or OS X that you have contracted and their expiration date.

For more information about license management, go to the License management section.

• Clients can only have licenses of one product, or , which they can use for Windows/Linux or OS X computers.

     If a license contract expires within 30 days and, once expired, the number of licenses used exceeds the number of licenses contracted, you can use the option to release licenses. To do this, click Select licenses to release.

   • How to release licenses and move computers to the blacklist (More information)

     If you are a user with total control permissions, you can release licenses on the computers that you select. If you choose this option, computers whose license has been released will cease to be protected, and once their expiration date has been exceeded, they will be automatically blacklisted.

List of licenses

If you have exceeded the number of available licenses or there are computers in the blacklist, a warning will be displayed, just above the list.

Data displayed in the list of licenses:

The data is displayed in four columns: Expiry date, Contracted (total number of licenses contracted), Type (type of license), and Units (protection contracted: antivirus, firewall, device control, protection for Exchange Server and/or Web access control).

The data displayed refers to licenses for computers with Windows/Linux, and Mac operating system. In the latter case, the text (OS X) is displayed in the Type column.

     If any of your OS X licenses are about to expire, some of your computers will soon be sent to the blacklist.

     When the expiration date is getting close, a warning will be displayed and you will be able to release licenses. To do this, click the link Select licenses to release.

   • How to release licenses and move OS X workstations/servers to the blacklist (More information)

     Click the option Select licenses to release, and select the OS X computers whose licenses you want to release.

     If you choose this option, the affected computers will cease to be protected, and once their expiration date has been exceeded, they will be automatically blacklisted.

As licenses expire they will disappear from the list.
